Director of Nursing (DON) / Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON)

The Buckingham is seeking a dedicated and experienced Director of Nursing (DON) / Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to join our healthcare team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the nursing department's daily operations and ensuring high-quality patient care. This role involves leadership, strategic planning, and collaboration with healthcare professionals to maintain and improve patient care standards.

Key Responsibilities:

- Develop and implement nursing department goals, policies, and procedures in alignment with organizational objectives.
- Supervise, mentor, and support the nursing team, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to plan, coordinate, and evaluate patient care activities.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, as well as industry standards and best practices.
- Manage the recruitment, training, and evaluation of nursing staff to maintain a skilled and efficient team.
- Monitor patient care quality and outcomes, implementing improvements as necessary.
- Assist in budget preparation and manage departmental expenditures effectively.
- Act as a liaison between the nursing staff, patients, families, and other healthcare providers to communicate needs and resolve issues.
- Stay informed about the latest developments in nursing and healthcare to continually enhance departmental performance.

Qualifications:

- Valid Texas Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.
- Proven experience in nursing management or leadership roles, typically with a minimum of 3-5 years in a similar position.
- Comprehensive knowledge of healthcare regulations, standards, and nursing practices.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills with the ability to inspire and lead a team.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and the capability to make sound decisions under pressure.
- Commitment to continuous professional development and quality improvement.
