Director of Nursing - DON / ADON

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Director of Nursing (DON) / Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to join our team and lead our nursing staff in delivering high-quality health services to our patients.
**Position Summary:**
The Director of Nursing (DON) / Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) will be responsible for overseeing the nursing department, ensuring that all nursing practices comply with state and federal regulations. This leadership role involves the development and implementation of nursing policies, staff management, quality assurance, and promoting a culture of clinical excellence and teamwork.
**Key Responsibilities:**
*Leadership and Management*
- Provide strategic direction, mentoring, and support to nursing staff, ensuring high standards of care and professional development.
- Manage staffing levels, recruitment, and training of nursing personnel to ensure continuity of care and operational efficiency.
- Foster an environment of collaboration and open communication among nursing staff and other departments.
*Clinical Oversight*
- Monitor the quality of nursing care and patient outcomes, implementing evidence-based practices to improve results.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and accreditation standards related to nursing care and operations.
- Conduct regular audits and performance evaluations of nursing practices, identifying areas for improvement.
*Policy Development and Implementation*
- Develop, review, and update nursing policies and procedures in accordance with best practices and regulatory changes.
- Lead initiatives to enhance patient safety, satisfaction, and overall quality of care.
*Collaboration and Communication*
- Collaborate with physicians, interdisciplinary team members, and management to develop patient-centered care plans.
- Serve as a liaison between nursing staff, administration, and regulatory agencies.
*Education and Training*
- Identify educational needs of nursing staff and implement training programs to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Promote continuous professional development and encourage participation in workshops, seminars, and professional organizations.
**Qualifications:**
*Education and Experience*
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) or Master’s degree in Nursing or healthcare administration preferred.
- Active and unencumbered RN license in Texas.
- Minimum of 5 years of nursing experience with 2 years in a leadership role in a healthcare setting, preferably in long-term care, acute care, or skilled nursing facilities.

- Strong leadership and managerial skills with a proven ability to motivate and develop staff.
- Excellent clinical assessment skills and a thorough understanding of nursing practices and healthcare regulations.
- Effective communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to analyze data and utilize metrics to drive improvements in patient care and operational efficiency.
*Additional Requirements*
- Current BLS/CPR certification.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.
