POSITION SUMMARY
The Quality Assurance Registered Nurse (QA RN) plays a key role in monitoring, evaluating, and improving the quality of care delivered within the skilled nursing facility. This position supports regulatory compliance, clinical oversight, and continuous quality improvement initiatives. The QA RN conducts audits, monitors clinical systems, and collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to ensure resident safety, accurate documentation, and best practices in care delivery
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Quality Improvement & Compliance:
- Assist in the development and implementation of the Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) program in alignment with CMS regulations.
- Perform clinical chart reviews, including ongoing audits of assessments, care plans, and documentation for accuracy and completeness.
- Monitor compliance with federal and state regulations, including timely follow-up on deficiencies and support for Plan of Correction (POC) development.
- Assist with root cause analyses (RCAs), incident reviews, and development of performance improvement projects (PIPs).
Admission Oversight:
- Review all new admissions for accuracy and completeness of physician orders, initial assessments, and care plans.
- Ensure all necessary documentation is completed timely and consistent with regulatory standards and facility policy.
Clinical Systems Oversight:
- Review and monitor consultant reports, including:
- Consulting Pharmacist Reports for medication regimen reviews and timely resolution of recommendations.
- Dietitian Reports for nutritional assessments and care plan updates.
- Track and trend infection control data and participate in infection prevention initiatives.
- Monitor clinical alerts, falls, pressure injuries, and readmissions to identify patterns and initiate corrective action.
Staff Education & Support:
- Provide education and feedback to licensed nursing staff related to documentation, regulatory compliance, and quality initiatives.
- Serve as a clinical resource to staff and participate in orientation of new nurses related to documentation and QA processes.
Reporting & Communication:
- Maintain accurate records of QA activities and prepare data for presentation at QAPI and leadership meetings.
- Collaborate with the Director of Nursing, Medical Director, and interdisciplinary team to enhance care outcomes and resident satisfaction.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Full-time, Monday through Friday; occasional availability required during surveys, audits, or emergent QA matters.
- Onsite position in a skilled nursing facility.
